Thank You For Making 2010 the Biggest Team Bike Challenge Yet!

The competition is over and the numbers are in.  This is officially our biggest competition yet in every possible way:

2400 participants on 526 teams took the challenge
Teams biked a total of 316,359 miles - 40,000 more miles than 2009
That's enough miles to circle the globe over 12.7 times!
By biking their commutes, teams saved the planet over 174 tons of harmful toxic emissions.

The medals were a big hit this year with 21 participants earning all 16!  Summer Heartt of the family team MKT Corazon of Napa which came in second place in Napa shared the story of her teammate, 6 year-old son Tristan, was so motivated to earn the medals in the competition that he rode over 200 miles in May and earned an impressive 13 medals.  Go Tristan!

2. Record your bike trips on our website, by clicking on “Create a New Ride” or by downloading our iBikeChallenge iPhone App and recording your rides using your phone’s GPS.

3. Every day you take a bike trip is worth 1 point.

4. Total daily mileage is worth the following points:
- 1 point – 0 to 4 miles
- 2 points – 5 to 14 miles
- 3 points – 15 to 29 miles
- 4 points – 30+ miles

5. Each month we’ll have a new leaderboard for that month so you can compete to be the top commuter each month.  Check out the June Leaderboard.

6. We’ll also maintain an overall individual leaderboard showing the total points that each person has accumulated so you can track your total points.
