Farid Javandel

City of Berkeley Transportation Manager is my day job to which I commute by bike because for me it is more reliable than the bus and because it is consistent with my professional efforts to reduce Vehicle-Miles-Travelled (VMT). As City of Albany Mayor, I also like to lead by example and ride my bike to Council meetings whenever possible. As an Alameda County Congestion Management Agency Board Member I am focused on reducing traffic congestion and reducing VMT, so I support Bike to Work Day and all the efforts to encourage the use of bikes as one of many alternatives to driving single occupant passenger vehicles.
